This commercial was sponsered by Volkswagon, the purpose was to create a car that could be a family vehicle, while being fun and child friendly. The target audience was middle aged people. Potentially middle aged couples with or without children. The message is specifically tailored to this type of people because the Volkswagon is fun and family friendly. It is also made to sound affordable, the commercial add that the car is around $20,000, but not the exact amount. They makeers of the commercial used a child in a Darth Vader costume, its entertaining to watch because the child is cute therfor people want to watch and see what happens. The family appears to be the typical family. They have a nice house in the suburbs somewhere, the young father and husband comes home to his young blonde wife who is doing the dishes as he pulls into the driveway in their Volkswagon. The child runs downstairs to see his dad and tries to use his “powers” on the car. The commercial itself has very little information about the car. It has the name of the car and it says an estimated price, but nothing concrete, some of the important things the makers of the commercial left out is the price of the car. They also left out the leasing oppurtunities and saftey stats, there isnt any real information about the car itself. The commercial is based on the concept of a family friendly, affordable car.
